Food for thought

Photo taken from charitywater.

In this picture, drillers are celebrating the completion of new well in Rwanda.

Sometimes, we take things for granted.
Things which are sacred to others.

Take water for an example - how many of us actually try to save water consciously? Very few. Water to many of us, is an everlasting source, never running out, always there when we turn on the tap, when we turn on the shower, when we need a drink.
However many people all over the world in third worl countries especially have to worry whether or not they have water to drink for the day or not.
Many people have to go and hunt for water, dig for water and sometimes, go through the day without any water and are at the risk of being dehydrated.

Many of us find our parents annoying when they keep harping at us to go and get a cup of water. But have we ever spared a thought for those who cannot even have a glass of water though they deperately need it? Hardly and I myself am guilty of this.

We should really treasure whatever we have right now and always think of how fortunate we are whenever we feel like complaining about something we do not have and/or do not want to do. Put yourselves in the people living in third world countries' shoes and always remember how lucky you all are.

Remember, there are people out there in this world who would give anything to just be in our shoes for just one day.
